Under the decision signed by Hanoi People’s Committee Chairman Chu Ngoc Anh, the closure will be applied from 12 pm today, May 13.
The official instructed local districts to establish inspection teams for pandemic prevention and control to supervise the city’s related businesses.
The move followed a local man who tested positive today had visited a golf course in Dong Mo area in Hanoi’s Son Tay Town on Tuesday.
The patient named Nguyen Van Thanh, director of Hanoi Construction Investment Company 2 under the Hanoi Housing Development Investment Corporation, was confirmed as a Covid-19 patient after returning home from a trip to Danang with his wife who also tested positive for the virus.
Earlier, Hanoi shut many non-essential services such as bars, karaoke parlours, café, beer stalls and temporary markets.
