Students from the Ho Chi Minh Economics College have earned Vietnam another world record for their mind map mosaic with the most pieces.
The 660m2 mosaic was assembled manually by 1,600 college students in over 17 consecutive hours from more than 550,000 pieces beginning in the morning of September 24. Carim Valerio, a representative from the Guinness Book of World Records, supervised the project.
The Guinness World representative recognized the accomplishment, which broke the previous record set by Singaporean and Chinese students.
The mosaic takes the form of a six-petal pink lotus, with each petal representing specific fields in Vietnam: human beings, geography, history, culture, education, and economy.
On the morning of September 25, Guinness World handed over the certificate proclaiming the mosaic as a new world record.
Vice Rector of the Ho Chi Minh Economics College, Tran Hoang Ngan, said that the announcement of the record demonstrates the dynamism and determination of Vietnamese students who united to bring pride to the nation.
