Phuc hailed Walther’s efforts in lobbying international organisations to build schools and hospitals in a number of countries, including Vietnam.

He said contributions by the foundation and the president himself will help strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and Germany, including people-to-people diplomacy, so as to promote mutual understanding,

Walther said he will do his utmost to mobilise funding for hospital and school projects in flood-prone areas in central Vietnam.

In 2011 he asked the foundation’s management to fund primary and secondary school projects in central Vietnam which was hard hit by severe floods.  During the visit this time he will attend a ground-breaking ceremony of these schools.

He said Batschka will continue with its charity programme in Vietnam.
