At around 3:15 o’clock, the D19E-943 locomotive pulling 24 container freight cars (HH16T) on the North-South railway route suddenly derailed in the area which is some 4 kilometres from Lang Co Station in Phu Loc District.

Right after that, the railway sector deployed personnel and equipment for the rescue.
The incident has caused the North-South railway route to be temporarily halted.
This is the fifth train derailment in Thua Thien-Hue over the past two months. Earlier, passenger trains SE2, SE4, and SE6 faced derailments due to technical issues and outdated railway infrastructure.
