Four new imported Covid-19 patients confirmed on Saturday

Four Vietnamese people who recently returned from abroad have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, raising the total number of Covid-19 patients in the country to 1,365, the Ministry of Health reported on Saturday evening.

According to the ministry's report, the new patients included three women and one man aged between 20-35 who recently returned from Romania, France, the Republic of Korea and Russia to Ho Chi Minh City and Danang City.

They were all sent to local quarantine areas upon arrival and are now being treated at Danang Lung Hospital and the Cu Chi Field Hospital for Covid-19 patients.

With these new infection cases, the number of imported Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 671.

As of 6 pm on December 5, a total of1,220 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.

At present, over 16,000 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.
