The 2nd deadly flood has totally destroyed a section of railway running through the central province of Ha Tinh.
The section is part of the North-South railway route linking Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The week-long downpours swept away soil, stones and even rails, creating holes up to 1.2 metres deep against the tracks surface.
In Duc Tho District, Ru Tri Dyke collapsed, sweeping away nearly 1 kilometre of railway, deforming and putting rails deep underwater.
The railway sector is trying to repair the railway section in Ha Tinh Province.
