Last Saturday, the Cat Hai-Phu Long cable care system served 5,300 visitors, breaking the record figure of 4,900 set in July 2023.

Between May 27 and August 1, cable car prices uwere dropped to just VND50,000 (USD1.96) and free for people shorter than one metre.
Since the price fall, around 1,000 tourists have visited Cat Ba, using the cable car per day and the figure reaches 3,000-5,000 at weekends.
Thanh Dat, who works at a travel firm in Cat Ba, said that more tourists using the cable car has helped to ease the congestion for the Dong Bai-Cai Vieng ferry route.
According to Dat, tourists can purchase tickets online or buy them at the counter. The waiting time to board the cabin is around 5-10 minutes and the cable car ride takes 15 minutes.
When arriving at Phu Long Station, people can can use taxi, transit bus, or public bus services priced between VND13,000-50,000 per person to further travel to the centre of Cat Ba
The cable car route is 3,955 metres long and has a capacity of 4,500 passengers per hour. Each cabin can accommodate 30 passengers
