Vietnamese carriers have cancelled dozens of flights between Hanoi, HCM City and Taiwan on July 7 and 8 as Taiwan braced for a direct hit from super typhoon Nepartak.
The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has announced it would cancel 10 flights to Taipei and Kaohsiung including four on Thursday and six more on Friday.
All flights are expected to be resumed on Saturday.
Low-cost carrier Vietjet on Thursday also cancelled three flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Taipei and Tainan.
Nepartak, the first major tropical storm of the season, had a radius of 200km and was moving west-northwest at a speed of 14km/h.
The storm is forecast to hit southern China as a typhoon after battering Taiwan.
