Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper starts construction of a new school project in the central highlands province of Dak Lak on July 26.
Representatives from Dantri Newspaper held a ground-breaking ceremony with the Krong Pak District People's Committee on Tuesday to begin the work on the Hoa Thien Ly Kindergarten construction project in Vu Bon Commune.
The project will cost VND 650 million (USD 28,260) with funds donated by readers of Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper after an article about the school was shared in the newspaper.
Over the past 13 years, hundreds of students of the Hoa Thien Ly Kindergarten had to use meeting rooms in the commune to study. Many of these facilities have seriously deteriorated.
Teacher Ton Nu Thu Nga said that over 400 students of the school are mostly from the Tay, Nung, Mong, Cao Lan, and E De ethnic groups. The school is located in the district centre but parents can’t take their children there due to the distance and difficult mountain roads. So they've decided to use meeting rooms in local villages and organise nine classes in localities.
Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, vice chairman of Krong Pak District People's Committee, Ngo Thi Minh Trinh, expressed thanks to Dantri/Dtinews and kind donors for supporting local teachers and students to have better facilities.

"We've also paid lots of attention to education but due to a limited budget, we've been unable to invest in building new schools," she said. "Some 30 kindergartens including Hoa Thien Ly here are having to use rooms to organise classes."
Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, Deputy Editor-In-Chief of Dantri/Dtinews Nguyen Xuan Toan shared that this was the 44th school project carried out by Dantri/Dtinews and donors nationwide and the first in Dak Lak Province.
