Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted in Danang City announced on June 17 that student Nguyen Nhat Anh had earned a gold medal at the 2026 European Physics Olympiad (EuPhO).

Nhat Anh, a member of Class A4K40 specialising in physics, represented Vietnam alongside four other students: Nguyen Vu Manh Khang of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted in Gia Lai; Luong Duc Gia Bao of Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted in Phu Tho; and Nguyen Thanh Trung and Hoang Van Thai Son of Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted.
Competitors were required to complete two demanding examinations, including a five hour theoretical test and a five hour practical test.
In addition to Nhat Anh's gold medal, the other four members of the Vietnamese team each won silver medals.
The European Physics Olympiad is one of the world's most prestigious international physics competitions for secondary school students, attracting top teams from across the globe.
This year's competition was held from June 12 to June 16 in Gothenburg.
