This is the vaccine batch allocated for the northern province of Hai Duong. However, the pandemic has brought under control in the province, so the vaccine will be given to eight south-western provinces namely Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Soc Trang, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu and Ca Mau. The localities are facing a high risk of Covid-19 outbreaks as they are near Cambodia.
Under the Ministry of Health’s decision, 5,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine will also be provided for Lao Cai Province.
These 20,000 doses of vaccine belong to the total of 43,700 doses of AstraZeneca which were earlier planned to be supplied to Hai Duong Province.
At present, the southwestern region is carrying out the Covid-19 vaccination.
To date, nearly 260,000 people in Vietnam have been provided with Covid-19 vaccine. Among those, only 30% have met with normal reactions such as fever and tiredness. Just some cases experienced allergic reactions, but they were timely dealt with in line with the Ministry of Heath’s treatment regime.
