Associate Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Hien, deputy director of the National Hospital of Paediatrics, over the recent days, the hospital has received more children who mostly suffered from respiratory problems such as bronchitis and pneumonia.

These days, around 2,000 children come to the hospital for medical-checks up every day on average, leading to the more serious overcrowding.

The figure is expected to be on the rise if it is colder.

The cold weather has caused more children to contract with diarrhoea.

Associate Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, former head of Bach Mai Hospital’s Paediatric Ward, advised that during cold days, children should be protected more carefully. Children should not be taken to outside if it is too cold. They should only play outside when the temperature is higher.

Hanoi Heart Hospital has also seen the sharp rise of patients who have been hospitalised over the past three days. The hospital receives around 1,000 patients a day on average; with most of which are elderly people.
