Binh Duong supports homeless people amid social distancing

Authorities in the southern province of Binh Duong have provided homeless people with temporary shelters as the province is still applying distancing measures for Covid-19 prevention.

Authorities in the southern province of Binh Duong have provided homeless people with temporary shelters as the province is still applying distancing measures for Covid-19 prevention.

An official from An Phu Ward in Thuan An City on Monday afternoon said that the locality had found 28 young men at some local construction sites and empty land plots.

Local authorities then rented some rooms for them to live in. They were also provided with necessities.

An Phu Ward has also called on local landlords to reduce or exempt rent for people.

Many landlords have offered free necessities for their tenants.

Vo Huynh Long, An Phu Ward’s Father Front Board, said that the locality had presented 300,000 gifts worth a total VND3 billion to Covid-19-affected workers. To date, around 2,000 local landlords had slashed and exempted rentals for workers.
