The line currently serves an average of 50,423 passengers on weekdays, with weekend figures rising to 76,414. Daily ridership averages around 57,785.
Since the beginning of the year, Metro Line 1 has operated 34,626 train trips, reaching 100.3 per cent of its planned schedule. Passenger numbers have reached 9.99 million, surpassing the target by 48.83 per cent.
Operations have remained consistent with the original plan during the launch phase and the year's first half. During peak hours, trains run every eight minutes, with nine trains in continuous rotation to meet growing demand.
Pham Huu Phuoc, 24, a resident of Thu Duc City and regular metro user, said, "The metro has been my main means of transport for over six months. I park at Thao Dien Station every day and take the metro to Ba Son for work. It's fast, clean and civilised. The monthly pass is of great value at just VND 300,000."
HCM City Urban Railway Company 1 has launched a programme to support disadvantaged groups. From June to December, poor students and low-income workers will receive free tickets on Metro Line 1.
Eligible recipients include students confirmed by educational or local authorities and workers in industrial zones verified by trade unions or employers.
