Bui Van Thai from Binh Son District’s Binh Thuan Commune said that the barges have collided with pipelines of nearby shrimp farms, causing damage. They have also presented danger to local fishing boats.

Captain Do Bao Chau, head of Dung Quat Port’s Border Post, said that the barges have been docked in the area since 2019 to serve the construction of the port. The recent typhoons had dislodged their anchor lines.

“We have worked with the company on the case, but they have still neglected the problem. If the situation remains the same, we will report it to authorities for dealing with,” Chau noted.
