Some northern localities including Hanoi, Thai Nguyen and Hung Yen provinces have faced serious air pollution.

Air pollution in Hanoi
According to results by PAM Air, which is the first and only private air quality network in Vietnam operating over 400 monitoring points across 63 cities and provinces, the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded in Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, and Hung Yen on Monday morning reached over 300 which was recorded as a dangerous level.
At 8 am a PAM Air monitoring point in Thai Nguyen City showed AQI at 406, particulate matter (PM2.5) at 382.7; while the figures for Hanoi were AQI at 338, PM 2.5 at 312.9; and Hung Yen were AQI at 330, PM 2.5 at 277.5.
An AQI of above 100 is considered unhealthy for humans.
People are advised not to take part in outdoor activities and wear protective face masks when going out.
In addition, 19 other localities in the northern region, nine in the southern region and three others in the central regions also had dangerous AQI levels of between 201-300. Ho Chi Minh City had seven spots with dangerous air pollution.
The Vietnam Environment Administration under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has advised people to constantly check information about air quality on their website or PAM Air app in order to take proper measures to protect their health.
