African swine fever spreads in Dak Nong

The provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has warned that African swine fever is spreading in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong.

The provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has warned that African swine fever is spreading in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong.

Up to 223 pigs weighing over three tonnes have been culled in the province due to African swine fever. The epidemic has been reported in Nam Dong Commune in Cu Jut District, Dak Som Commune in Dak Glong District and Dak R’tih in Tuy Duc District.

Around 195 pigs were transported to Dak Rtih Commune from other localities.

Two African swine fever outbreaks were experienced in Nam Dong Commune, affecting 29 pigs earlier this month.

African swine fever affected 21 households in Dak Nong last year, causing 465 pigs to be killed. This resulted in hundreds of millions of VND in losses.
