HCM City has been affected by African swine fever
In HCM City, samples from pigs raised by a household in the city's District 9 have been tested positive for the virus. Local agencies have culled all 163 pigs raised by the household and have disinfected surrounding areas.
African swine fever has no cure but does not affect humans. It was first detected in Vietnam in early February.
Vietnam has accumulated losses of VND3.6 trillion (USD154 million) due to the epidemic.
