Additional 55 Covid-19 cases reported, mostly in HCM City

The Vietnamese Ministry of Health confirmed another 55 locally-infected Covid-19 cases on Wednesday morning, with 51 found in HCM City.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Health confirmed another 55 locally-infected Covid-19 cases on Wednesday morning, with 51 found in HCM City.

Among the cases in HCM City, 40 are in quarantined and blocked areas, one linked to the Christian mission cluster and the remaining ten are still under epidemic investigations as the sources of transmission have not yet been defined.
 

The others recorded in Bac Giang and Nghe An provinces had been already isolated prior to testing.

Following the latest discovery, Vietnam has so far confirmed 12,065 local infections and 1,717 from abroad. Since April 27 when the fourth Covid-19 wave started in Vietnam, the nation has recorded 10,495 infections in 43 cities and provinces.

Around 5,546 Covid-19 patients have been discharged from hospital.

Vietnam administered over 2.5 million Covid-19 vaccine shots, with 133,843 people fully given with two doses.
