Vietnam posted another 42 Covid-19 cases in the past 12 hours to 6 am on Thursday morning, pushing the national count to nearly 14,000, according to the Ministry of Health.
Among those, five from abroad were recorded in Khanh Hoa and Tay Ninh provinces.
Of the 37 domestic infections, HCM City topped with 26, followed by Thai Binh with three, Bac Giang three, Tay Ninh two, Long An two and Khanh Hoa one. Twenty-eight patients were detected in blocked or quarantined areas, while nine others in Thai Binh, Tay Ninh and HCM City are under epidemic investigations as the sources of transmission have not yet been defined.
By 6 am on Thursday, Vietnam logged a total of 13,989 Covid-19 patients, including 70 deaths. Since April 27, the country has reported 10,694 cases.
Sixteen cities and provinces have gone through 14 days without detecting any new Covid-19 locally-infected cases.
To date, 5,684 people have been discharged from hospital.
The nation has administered over 2.6 million Covid-19 vaccine shots, with 137,682 people fully given two doses.
