300 heroic mothers arrived in Hanoi and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum on July 24.
On Friday morning, the group was led by Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Dao Ngoc Dung and his two deputies Le Tan Dung and Nguyen Thi Ha to the mausoleum.
Many volunteers joined to help the heroic mothers during their visit.
One of the heroic mothers, Le Thi Xuan from the central city of Danang expressed her joy and happiness when being given the trip. "I was very happy to be able to come to Hanoi and visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, she said "Seeing Uncle Ho here, I miss him a lot."
Mother Nguyen Thi Do, 104, from Danang City is the oldest in the delegation.
Mother Le Thi Ranh, 83, from the southern province of Long An waved her hand to greet people in Hanoi.
Earlier, on Thursday evening, minister Dung hosted a meeting and a party to welcome the heroic mothers to Hanoi.
Speaking at the meeting, the minister said that this was an important event that received attention from the government and people. He highly appreciated the great sacrifice of the mothers during the wars and said they were role models for the later generations.
According to the minister, the state and government have honoured and given the title of Heroic Mothers to 139,000 mothers and wives of war invalids and martyrs. Nearly 5,000 of them are still alive.
