According to Hanoi Police, the three men may have been chased and tried to flee before the accident on Lang Street in Dong Da District.
"A group of more than ten motorbikes were speeding at 1.20 am when one carrying three young men crashed into a barrier," the report said. "Two died on the spot, and another died shortly after from serious injury after being sent to the Transport Hospital."
A witness said the group of mostly young men were shouting and holding weapons while driving at high speed. The witness said the drivers were throwing bottles at one another.
Hanoi police are investigating the incident.
