Storm Yinxing forecasted to affect three airports

Three airports in the central region of Vietnam have been warned of being directly affected by Storm Yinxing.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), the three airports likely to be directly affected by the storm are Phu Bai International Airport, Da Nang Airport, and Chu Lai Airport. Meanwhile, other airports such as Dong Hoi, Phu Cat, Pleiku, and Tuy Hoa are urged to stay updated with weather information to respond promptly.

The CAAV has instructed the relevant agencies and units to remain on duty around the clock and strictly adhere to the procedures for managing storms and tropical depressions in civil aviation operations.

Airlines need to closely monitor the storm's developments and adjust flight plans or schedules in affected areas to ensure safety.

The vulnerable airports have been instructed to closely update meteorological information and take necessary actions to minimize the impact of the storm.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has called for proactive preparations for the approaching Storm Yinxing. These measures include informing residents of the storm’s risks; closely monitoring and ensuring the safety of vessels at sea and at shelter points; devising plans to evacuate residents from high-risk areas; securing dykes, reservoirs, and dams; and preparing personnel and equipment for rescue, relief efforts, and post-storm recovery, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
