The fibre optic cable has the bandwidth capacity three times higher than the APG (Asia Pacific Gateway) cable. It has been built under an investment co-operation programme between the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) and international telecom groups such as Singtel, China Telecom, SoftBank, China Unicom, NT, PLDT, and TATA Communications.
The ADC undersea optical cable route has a submarine cable length stretching for nearly 10,000 kilometres with a capacity of 160 Tbps.
It uses the most modern transmission technology, helping to connect countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong (China), China, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand.
The ADC cable route fully meets the requirements of deploying international internet connection applications which require high speed, such as Internet of Things (IoT), automation, Artificial Intelligence (A.I.), Augmented Reality (AR), and Virtual Reality (VR). In addition, it also ensures network safety and redundancy, whilst maintaining quality of Viettel’s internet and other international connection services.
So far, Viettel has invested in various submarine cable projects, namely AAE-1, TGN-IA, APG, AAG, and ADC.
