The city’s Traffic Police Department said on March 23 that its traffic control centre, operational since December 13, 2025, has delivered clear gains in enforcement, traffic management, digital transformation and public services.

Most violations involved running red lights, not wearing helmets and failing to use seat belts. Authorities confirmed all cases have been reviewed, documented and notified, achieving a 100 per cent processing rate.
Since January 1, police have piloted fully digital administrative handling via the iHanoi app. More than 7,800 cases have been integrated into the system, allowing residents to complete procedures entirely online.
Over the period, the centre adjusted traffic flows at 188 intersections and established 22 “green wave” corridors along key routes such as Pho Hue-Hang Bai, Ba Trieu, Tran Hung Dao and Phan Dinh Phung.
It also carried out 446 signal timing adjustments and resolved 575 technical issues to ensure stable operations.
Authorities said vehicle flow at intersections improved by between 4 per cent and over 18 per cent. Major junctions such as Vo Chi Cong and Giai Phong-Truong Chinh recorded steady gains of 6 per cent to 11 per cent, highlighting the effectiveness of AI-driven traffic management.
By integrating digital maps covering 266 traffic control points and 108 flood-prone locations, the system has enabled more proactive traffic operations and urban management.
The AI network has also identified more than 1,000 cases related to urban order and environmental violations, helping authorities respond more quickly.
