
Most had travelled abroad seeking work but were lured by fraudulent offers promising high wages and light duties. Instead, they faced coercion, labour exploitation and poor living conditions.
The group was detained during a crackdown by Cambodian authorities before being handed over to Vietnam. All expressed a desire to return home.
Initial screening has been carried out, with investigations launched in line with the law. Four individuals were identified as wanted under arrest warrants issued in several provinces and cities.
Dong Nai police and border guards urged the public to verify information carefully before seeking overseas employment and to avoid trusting offers circulating on social media.
Authorities warned that such scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated, posing risks to jobseekers.
