Authorities of the Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau have presented Dantri/DTiNews representative office in the region a certificate of merit for the newspaper’s active contributions to the locality’s charitable activities.

Authorities of the Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau have presented Dantri/DTiNews representative office in the region a certificate of merit for the newspaper’s active contributions to the locality’s charitable activities.

The certificate of merit signed by Chairman of provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Tien Hai was granted at a ceremony to mark the 40th year of founding Ca Mau’s U Minh District.

According to the certificate, the newspaper’s representative office staff, particularly reporter Huynh Hai, has been recognised for calling on support to implement the province’s social security programmes.

Since 2010, the office has been acting as a bridge between dozens of disadvantaged people in U Minh District and donors.

Through articles, around VND3 billion (USD130,434) have been donated to help the poor in the district.

For instance, brothers Nguyen Hoang Long and Nguyen Hoang Phu who both suffer from psoriasis have received a total VND500 million (USD21,739) from readers.
