Rescue forces recover the bodies of three teenager who drown in a river in Binh Dinh Province on June 26.

Nguyen Van Cong, Chairman of Phuoc Thang Commune People's Committee in Tuy Phuoc District, said a group of five teenagers had gone swimming in a local river at around 2.30 pm.

While swimming back to shore, three of them were caught in a strong current and pulled underwater. The remaining two managed to escape and called for help, but by the time residents arrived, the three teenagers, aged between 14 and 16, had drowned.

According to locals, all three victims could swim and often bathed in the area during the afternoon. However, a sudden drop in tide may have caused a powerful current that overwhelmed them.

Local authorities have urged parents to closely supervise their children during the summer break and not to allow them to swim in rivers or streams without adult supervision to avoid similar tragedies.
