According to Bai Chay Hospital in Ha Long City, at 9.26 am, the hospital received a report that a foreign passenger had lost consciousness on a tourist boat in Ha Long Bay.
An emergency response team was immediately sent to the pier for assistance.
The tourist was choking, with digestive fluids in the throat and a weak pulse. Medical staff performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), cleared the airway, and transported her to Bai Chay Hospital. She went into cardiac arrest en route and received continued CPR.
At the hospital, doctors continued advanced CPR for 60 minutes, but the patient showed no signs of recovery and died. She was later identified as Huang Hsiu Hsing, 68, from Taiwan.
The victim’s body has been transferred to the local police for handling in accordance with regulations for foreign nationals.
