Hundreds of thousands of visitors gathered along the Han River to enjoy the opening shows by the Vietnamese and Austrian teams.Speaking at the opening ceremony, Danang City People's Committee chairman Huynh Duc Tho said the firework festival had become one of city’s key events.
"We'll try to develop the festival, make it a key tourism product of Danang in order to attract more visitors," Tho said.
The Vietnamese team opened with a show which was described as one of the best since the competition began.

Four shows by six teams from the UK, Japan, Australia, China, Italy and Switzerland will take place until June 24.
