Central region to face more heavy rain

Central provinces in Vietnam, from Thua Thien-Hue to Binh Dinh, are forecasted to face another spell of torrential rain.

According to Vietnam’s National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, areas from Thua Thien Hue to Binh Dinh are likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, with some locations receiving over 250mm from the evening of November 11 to November 13.

Thua Thien-Hue Province is expected to see the highest rainfall of 200m.

The rains are likely to trigger flash floods and landslides in several mountainous areas across A Luoi, Nam Dong, Phong Dien, and Phu Loc districts and in Huong Tra Town in Thua Thien-Hue.

Residents in Hue City have also warned of potential inundation, particularly in areas with poor drainage systems.

The centre reported that three storms are developing in the Pacific. Typhoon Yinxing is in the East Sea; Typhoon Toraji is east of the Philippines, and Typhoon Man-yi is far off in the northwest Pacific. Another tropical depression has been predicted to enter the East Sea.
