Road 3D, connecting Bac Kan City and Don Market, is plagued by landslides. According to Nguyen Van Thang, a frequent traveller on the route, soil and rocks often cover half the road in many sections, posing significant dangers to travellers, especially at night.
Road 3B is struggling with landslides
Road 3B, leading to Cho Moi District, is in the same situation.
Tran Tuan Anh from Quang Thuan Commune in Bach Thong District noted that Typhoon Yagi caused landslides in many areas. He added that debris from the hillside had impacted several local houses. Anh expressed hope that authorities would take swift action to resolve the issue and ensure residents' safety.
Many roads in Bac Kan have remained unrepaired after Typhoon Yagi
So far this year, Bac Kan has experienced many periods of rain and flooding. Due to natural disasters, the Ministry of Transport has declared a state of emergency for National Roads 3B, 3C, and 279 in Bac Kan.
The damaged roads traverse challenging terrain, with steep hillsides on one side and ravines featuring farmland, rivers, and streams on the other, making landslide remediation particularly difficult.
