The Vietnamese communities in Israel and Iran remain safe with no casualties and injuries reported despite tensions in the region, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang confirmed at the ministry's regular press briefing on July 3.

Hang stated that in response to the recent developments of the Middle East situation, the ministry and relevant domestic agencies have continue to direct Vietnamese representative offices in the two countries to maintain citizen protection hotlines and report emerging issues. Besides, the ministry has worked closely with competent Vietnamese authorities and representative missions in the region as well as competent agencies of the host countries to keep a close watch on the situation and prepare emergency measures to ensure the safety for both Vietnamese citizens and headquarters of the representative agencies.

Vietnamese nationals residing, working, and studying in Israel and Iran need to strictly follow the host countries' security and safety guidelines as well as maintain regular contact with the Vietnamese representative offices in these nations, she said.

Earlier, during the most intense period of the conflict, the Vietnamese Embassies in Israel and Iran, in coordination with domestic agencies and the Vietnamese missions in Russia and Egypt, successfully carried out emergency evacuations. The operation safely evacuated 78 Vietnamese citizens, of whom 63 individuals had already returned to Vietnam.

The Vietnamese diplomatic missions in Israel and Iran have continued maintaining regular contact with citizens in the two countries to provide timely support./.
