The CV1 park and lake project encompasses 32 hectares, comprising approximately 19 hectares of water surface and 8.7 hectares of green space. Construction began in the second quarter of 2016, and after multiple delays, the project was completed and opened in June 2024.

The VND 744 billion (approximately USD 29 million) project is situated next to major urban complexes and modern landmarks, including Keangnam Landmark 72, The Manor, and Golden Palace, with high expectations of becoming a vibrant public space for residents.

However, far from expectations, the park has shown signs of degradation and pollution. Large areas inside have turned wild, with grass and weeds towering over head height.

From above, the section of the park along Pham Hung Street appears overrun with weeds, shrubs, and tangled vines.

Earlier, parts of the lake experienced mass fish deaths, with carcasses floating on the surface and emitting a foul stench. Although environmental workers have collected large quantities of dead fish, the problem remains unresolved.

Around the lake, many areas have become dumping grounds for garbage.

Paths around the lake are covered by grass.

“My house is nearby, but I only come here occasionally. At first, the park was clean and lively, but now it’s deserted and foul-smelling, so I rarely visit,” a resident said.

The fountains have broken down and stopped working, with some areas dried up and left without maintenance or repair.

The children’s playground is deserted, with weeds covering the play areas.

Shrubs and weeds have swallowed up slides and swings.
