During this year’s National Day holiday, the Vietnam Military History Museum is offering free admission to all visitors on September 1 and 2.
On the morning of September 1, large numbers of residents and tourists from across the country had poured into the museum.
The surge in visitors caused congestion at the entrance on Thang Long Boulevard, with long queues of people and vehicles stretching outside the museum gates.
As the crowds continued to grow, authorities were deployed at the museum entrance to direct traffic and ease congestion along Thang Long Boulevard.
The exhibition halls inside the museum were packed with residents and tourists.
Large crowds gathered around displays on the resistance war against French colonial rule and the war against the United States.
Artefacts linked to wartime battles and key milestones in the country’s history drew particular interest from visitors.
Alongside sightseeing, many young couples also took the opportunity to capture memorable moments together amid the festive atmosphere of the national celebration.
Having planned a photo shoot with his girlfriend for National Day, Lieutenant Anh Tu said he was deeply moved: “I feel immensely proud and emotional in the atmosphere of National Day, and it is even more wonderful to share these meaningful moments with the person I love.”
Wearing white ao dai, many young visitors paused to preserve memorable moments at the museum, expressing pride while keeping souvenirs of their youth alongside the nation’s heroic history.
Large military hardware and weapons displayed in the spacious outdoor exhibition area became a focal point for visitors keen to learn more and take photographs during the National Day holiday.
The occasion also gave families a chance to bring children to learn about history and see first-hand artefacts tied to the nation’s long struggle.
