Authorities in the central city of Danang have announced the reopening of many sites on Son Tra Peninsula to visitors starting September 16, after a suspension caused by landslides resulting from heavy rains in October 2022.

The sites to be reopened include Tien Sa-Suoi Om-Ban Co Peak; Ban Co Peak-Bach Beach and Ba Beach Junction-Heritage Banyan Tree.

Visiting hours run from 7.30 am to 6.30 pm between March and September, and from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm between October and February.

Visitors may use sports bicycles, mountain bikes, motorcycles (except scooters), or travel on foot on the Tien Sa-Suoi Om-Ban Co Peak route.

The Ban Co Peak-Bac Beach route is open for one-way traffic, downhill only, with scooters and buses with more than 24 seats prohibited. The Bac Beach-Heritage Banyan Tree route is exclusively for pedestrians.

Individual visitors will be issued a green pass, which must be returned the same day. Tour groups and business operators are required to inform the Management Board in advance of their schedule, routes, and number of participants.

The Son Tra Peninsula Management Board has strictly prohibited unauthorised trekking to Huc Lo, Mui Nghe and Bai Da Den to ensure safety and protect the landscape.

Visitors must comply with designated times and routes, avoid restricted or military zones, refrain from littering, cutting trees, or lighting fires, and may only use drones, film, or take photos in permitted areas with prior official approval.

Covering over 4,400 hectares, the Son Tra Peninsula boasts a rich ecosystem of flora and fauna, making it an ideal destination for visitors to Danang.

The peninsula is at its most beautiful between March and September, when the weather is cool and clear and the roads are easier to travel.
