The Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on June 4 that it had instructed relevant agencies, local authorities, businesses and individuals to strictly comply with regulations prohibiting tourism activities at Mui Hoi, Binh Ba Island and Hon Chut on Binh Hung Island, all located in Nam Cam Ranh Commune.

According to the department, the measure is intended to safeguard national defence, security and safety in the area surrounding the Cam Ranh military base in accordance with government regulations.
Tour operators, travel agencies and tourism service providers have been instructed not to advertise, promote, broker, organise tours or transport visitors to locations where tourism development is prohibited.
The department also called on the Khanh Hoa Tourism Association and the provincial travel association to increase awareness among their members about the restrictions.
Authorities in Nam Cam Ranh Commune have been asked to strengthen inspections and strictly handle violations related to tourism activities in the affected areas.
In September 2025, the Prime Minister issued regulations governing security and safety around the Cam Ranh military base.
Under those regulations, tourism development and tourism-related activities are prohibited at Mui Hoi, Binh Ba Island and Hon Chut.
Despite the restrictions, authorities said some organisations and individuals have continued to advertise and organise sightseeing trips to the locations through social media platforms in recent months.
The latest directive aims to ensure full compliance with the regulations and prevent unauthorised tourism activities in sensitive military areas.
