Addressing the opening ceremony, Dinh Dac Vinh, deputy general director of Vietnam Television (VTV) and head of the Robocon Vietnam 2024 organisingboard, noted Robocon has gradually become a creative, scientific and technological playground for many generations of students across the country since it was organized for the first time in 2002.
Vietnam Television expects this contest to be organized more professionally demonstrating young people’s capacity to master technology, mechanics and automation, said Vinh.
This year’s Robocon contest is themed ‘Harvest Day’which was inspired by rice cultivation taking place on terraced fields.
Each team has two robots which perform different tasks, such as planting rice and harvesting.
Two strongest teams of the 2018 Robocon Vietnam will go on to represent Vietnam at the ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2024 (ABU Robocon), which is slated for August in Ha Long city, northern Quang Ninh province.
