According to vice chairman of Dak Nong Province People's Committee Le Van Chien, six wind power projects have been given construction licenses in the province, worth trillions of dong.

They are Dak N’Drung 1 with capacity of 100MW, Dak N’Drung 2 (100MW), Dak N’Drung 3 (100MW), Dak Hoa (50MW), Asia Dak Song1 (50MW) and Nam Binh 1 (30MW).

However, so far only one of the six projects, Dak Hoa 1, capitalised at VND1.62 trillion, has been put into operation.

Meanwhile, the other five projects are still facing slow progress as the government inspectors have disclosed problems related to site clearance work that need to be addressed.

The five projects were initially allocated land plots totalling 65 hectares, located in an area reserved for bauxite exploitation, processing and use in 2007-2015 with a vision toward 2025, approved by the PM.

Government inspectors have also pointed out other violations in the commercial operation of the wind power plants in the province.

The six projects are expected to provide 430MW to the national grid and contribute tens of trillion of VND to the provincial budget. However, only the 50MW-Dak Hoa project has been put into operation since late 2021 and it contributed VND27 billion to the budget in 2023.
