Vietnam has entered its ‘wedding season’ and like every year, some people have chosen more eccentric ways of celebrating the big day.

Dao Van Duc, 22, and Ho Thi Hoa, 21, were married in Hamlet 9, Nam Anh Commune in Nghe An Province’s Nam Dan District.

A buffalo rickshaw was carefully designed with two seats for the couple.

Their wedding attracted the attention of a large number of people and thousands of comments when a video on the event was spread on internet.

Duc said, “I decided to use such a unique vehicle to pick my wife up, not because I wanted to be famous or lacked money. I just want to do something special on our most memorable day.”

A couple from Hanoi’s Hoai Duc District concluded their wedding with the bride being brought to the groom’s house on a home-made tractor. The wedding was held in early October.

The tractor designed to pick up the bride was carefully decorated with heart-shaped balloons and roses while friends and relatives of the two families were carried on other tractors.

At another wedding in Nghe An Province’s Yen Thanh District, a tractor was also used to pick up the bride.

The wedding was organised on November 17 for Nguyen Viet Van, 27, and Nguyen Thi Phuong, 23, from Hau Thanh Commune’s Phu Tho Hamlet.

A fleet of seven tractors were used to carry friends and relatives of the two families.

Bridegroom Dao Van De from Dinh Quan District said he decided to use the farming device during his wedding to underline its importance in the lives of both families.

On April 23, a wedding in Son La Province attracted the attention of many people as the bridegroom carried the bride on his back across three-kilometres.

The wedding was for Nguyen Van Thanh, 22, and Dang Thi Dao, 20, in Suoi Co Highlands Villages in Phu Yen District’s Muong Coi Commune.
