Dozens of rare monkeys released

The Vu Quang National Park in the central province of Ha Tinh Province has just received 21 monkeys of rare and endangered species from the Hoang Lien National Park in the northern province of Lao Cai.



A monkey is released back to the wild at the Vu Quang National Park.


The director of the Hoang Lien National Park, La Van Toi, told Dantri/Dtinews on May 23 that seven pig-tailed macaques, seven rhesus macaques, three Assam macaques, and four five stump-tailed macaques are all on the list of rare, endangered wild animals of group 2B in need of protection and preservation.

Toi said the monkeys will be released at Vu Quang National Park where they will continued to be monitored. This will help distribute the animals across more areas for better development and preservation."

The Wildlife Rescue Centre at the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in the central province of Quang Binh also announced on May 23 that it had released 17 rescued rare and endangered animals, including three pig-tailed macaques, some turtles, and civet cats back into the wild.
