More sunflower trees grown along Saigon River bank

Around 20,000 more sunflower trees have been grown in Saigon River Park to welcome the coming Tet Lunar New Year.

Around 20,000 more sunflower trees have been grown in Saigon River Park to welcome the coming Tet Lunar New Year.

The river bank running from Nguyen Thien Thanh and Ba Son Bridge has been levelled to grow trees. However, some of the park has not yet been completed.

Work on the park is being hastened.

An additional 20,000 sunflower trees will be grown at the park and they are expected to bloom during Tet. Each tree is around 45 cm high.

Sunflower trees are planted in pots and then arranged into miniatures.

Many sunflower trees which have wilted will be replaced with new ones.

The sunflower garden has attracted more visitors.


Saigon River Park is located on a site of some 20 hectares which stretches the Thu Thiem 2 Bridge to the Saigon River Tunnel. The project cost VND90 billion (USD3.7 million) and includes the sunflower field, an ecological park, a floating raft system for aquatic plants, a fountain, a designated area for fireworks and other facilities.
