Labour ministry proposes 9-day Tet holiday

The Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has proposed a 9-day break for the 2025 Tet Lunar New Year holiday, from January 25 to February 2.

Under the proposed plan, the holiday would begin on Saturday, January 25, and conclude on Sunday, February 2. It includes five official days off and two weekends.

The ministry is taking feedback on the proposal from various ministries and sectors before submitting it to the prime minister for final approval.

The Tet Lunar New Year Festival is the country's most important holiday.
