Phu Tho man drowns saving dog from flood
A 50-year-old man in Viet Tri City in the northern province of Phu Tho has died while trying to save a dog from high floodwaters.
According to a clip which has gone viral on social media, the incident happened in front of Que Lam Pagoda in Song Lo Commune on Wednesday.

Despite not wearing a life jacket, the man used a small boat to try and rescue a dog struggling with the rising water.
However, after getting on the boat, the dog quickly jumped back into the water and tried climbing back up. Consequently, the boat lost balance and capsized.
He floundered in the water because he couldn’t swim. Some witnesses shouted for help, and afterwards, two men jumped into the water to rescue him, but it was too late.
Some hours later, he was found dead near Que Lam Pagoda.
