The Hanoi Paediatric Hospital, which has a total investment of VND785 billion (USD31.65 million), is scheduled to be operational by late this year.

Work on the hospital started in February last year.

The hospital, which covers a total area of 67,863 square metres in Yen Nghia Ward in Ha Dong District, is a six-story building with two blocks (1A and 1B).

Block 1A includes the Outpatient Department, emergency, technical and paraclinical areas, and administrative offices. The Outpatient Department can provide 500 consultations per day.

Block 1B functions as an inpatient treatment facility with integrated services.

In the first phase, the hospital will have 200 sick beds, expected to rise to 500 in the long term.

Many kinds of equipment are being installed at the hospital.

The hospital's inpatient capacity is expected to reach around 50 percent initially, with 8 functional rooms, 12 clinical departments, and nine paraclinical departments.

This is Hanoi's second specialised hospital for children, behind the National Hospital of Paediatrics.
