US President Barack Obama will hold a press conference on Friday to discuss rising energy prices and other issues as the world heaps pressure on Libya\'s Moamer Kadhafi, an official said.

Obama wanted to discuss "rising energy prices among other things" in the appearance, which was scheduled for 11.15 p.m. (1615 GMT), a White House official said on condition of anonymity.
The White House has said that it is well aware of the economic pain imposed on Americans at the gasoline pump by rising oil prices, amid turmoil in the Middle East.
Obama will also surely face questions about his policy towards Libya and an apparent US reluctance to set up a no-fly zone over the country after a top US intelligence official warned Kadhafi could prevail in a showdown with rebels.
