Director of the Phu Quoc International Airport, Nguyen Minh Dong, said on Monday that Bamboo has temporarily suspended the Can Tho-Phu Quoc air route from early November due to a shortage of passengers."Bamboo launched the flight route connecting the two cities in 2021 with one flight every day," Dong said. "It was the only airline to conduct flights between these two destinations and no other airlines have registered for this route so far."
The Can Tho-Phu Quoc air route was among many routes recently suspended by Bamboo.
Bamboo Airways recently announced plans to halt many international air routes, as they focus on more popular flights in the run-up to New Year and the Lunar New Year.
The airline suspended the Hanoi-Icheon (South Korea) air route from October 29, HCM City-Sydney/Melbourne (Australia), HCM City/Hanoi-Frankfurt (Germany) and HCM City-Singapore air routes from November 4 and Hanoi-Bangkok (Thailand)/Narita (Japan)/Taipei (Taiwan) from November 8.
