According to the committee, the boat sank at 3.30 am on November 20 and the 14 crewmembers were holding on to the floating part of the boat.

"The sinking boat area is facing bad weather with strong wind and high waves," the committee said. "We've called upon concerned agencies and other boats operating in the area to save the crew."

According to reports the boat departed Tam Quan Port in Hoai Nhon Town on November 3.
