Thousands of fake products seized in HCM City
The Market Management General Department announced that as of 11 am on March 12, they had inspected 20 shops at the Saigon Square Shopping Centre and Ben Thanh Market. After the inspection, 1,500 items were suspected of being counterfeit of famous brands. Items worth VND146.2m (USD6,300) were seized.
224 items worth VND28.2m (USD1,200) were seized at Saigon Square, including 63 watches of famous brands like Montblanc, Rolex and Bulgari. Three pairs of shoes under Valentino brand and 48 Prada, Adidas and Gucci bags were also taken.
The authorities also seized 1,276 items worth VND118m (USD5,000) at Ben Thanh Market. There are Rolex, Longines, Chanel, Burberry and Cartier brand watches, eyeglasses, handbags, belts and other items.
