Northern region expects long rains after heat wave

Provinces from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen will continue to experience the heat wave with an average temperature of 35 degrees in the next couple of days. The temperatures in some places will be over 37 degrees such as Tinh Gia District, Thanh Hoa Province and Do Luong District in Nghe An will have temperatures of 37.8 and 37.3 degrees respectively.
The temperature in the north will reach 35 degrees for 12 to 16 hours.
Luu Minh Hai, head of Lao Cai Province Centre for Hydrometeorology Forecast said because of wind convergence, the northern region cooled down a little on August 10 but the heat returned on the next day and will last until next week.
On August 14, the north will have widespread rain and it is expected to last until August 18. The mountainous areas will have heavy rains.
The central region still has to face the heat until it falls a bit on August 13. It is forecast to rain on August 18.
